COVID-19: Testing, Treatment, Prevention
Tips for Being Prepared: Protect Yourself from or Respond to a COVID-19 Infection
As we continue to live with COVID-19 the Town of Weston Board of Health wants to help all who live/work/learn/visit Weston to be prepared! We recommend:
- Staying up to date with your vaccination and booster(s) against COVID-19 to prevent severe infection and hospitalization. Need a booster or vaccine? Call us or click here to schedule,
- Having good masks on hand for use as needed and,
- Keeping antigen rapid self-tests on hand at home if you are symptomatic or exposed to an infected close contact:
- Use your health insurance to get kits from many major drugstore chains, or
- Order free kits to be mailed to your home, or
- Free kits are available at the Board of Health office at Town Hall, the Council on Aging or the Weston Public Library while supplies last. Call 781-786-5033 for more information.
If you test positive for COVID-19 isolate. This applies to everyone, regardless of vaccination status. Stay home, away from others for 5-10 days. How to access therapeutic treatments if you test positive:
- Call your doctor right away to learn about your treatment options if you are positive for COVID-19, OR
- Call (508) 213-1380 to speak with a Gothams representative. If you're eligible for COVID-19 treatment, they can schedule an infusion appointment for you at one of their 7 sites in Massachusetts. Gothams COVID-19 Self-Referral Treatment Line is open Monday–Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- You may qualify for our in-home treatment program. Visit mass.gov/InHomeCovidTreatments to learn more about eligibility.
- Telehealth is available for individuals 18 or older living in Massachusetts who are positive for COVID-19 and are experiencing symptoms. Learn more at mass.gov/in-home-covid-19-treatment-program. Telehealth is a quick and easy way to see if Paxlovid, a COVID-19 treatment pill taken, is right for you. If it is, we’ll arrange for pickup at your local pharmacy or free overnight delivery.

Much of the COVID-19 transmission that happens in Weston is within a household or via social spread when people leave isolation at home too soon.
